Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone recorded rehearsals or live session with this ?

Interested in the quality of the recording and how easy to use.

Thanka

Hi,

Same question here. I'm more interested in how the device handles high volumes and distorted guitars rather than a shoe and some clapping or a accoustic guitar :)

Can anyone post any sound samples please?

Best!

Hi, yes I made my first recordings of a really loud rehearsal of my post-hardcore band. I'm using an ipad and garageband. In the beginning I had some problems with clipping. Then I unchecked "Automatic input level" of Inter-App Audio and put the input level to almost zero. It got much better. In some parts I still have some small clippings but I can handle. It was my first trial so maybe I can get the clippings completely out at the next rehearsal session. By now I'm pretty enthusiastic about the Sonic Port VX. I will try to upload some snippets this week...

cheers!

As I promised I recorded a pretty loud rehearsal session. This time I didn't have any problems with clipping. I even could have put more input level (it was between 2 and 3 on the Sonic mic, stereo), it was not even half of the bar in Garageband. Check out the sound sample of the live rehearsal of my band Avoid Alpha from Germany. ;)

I'm looking forward for more recording sessions with my Sonic Port VX! ;)

You're welcome! We have a small room, so there are not many possibilities. I tried to place the Sonic Stereo Mic more far away from the drums and between our two guitar amps, to get some panorama effect on the guitars... ;)
