Amplifi FX 100 with modeling amp

I am fairly ignorant when it comes to tone and using effects and I am hoping someone can give me some guidance on how to properly use the FX100, or whether I am just complicating it.

I have a vox valvetonix modeling amp and I want to run my FX100 through it.  Since the FX100 does pretty much the same thing as the amp, I am not sure the proper way to use it.  In other words, which amp do I choose to model on the vox when I am already modeling an amp on the FX100?  Is the FX100 meant to just run directly through a PA and skip an amp? Should I just find the cleanest setting on the Vox and then let the FX100 do all the work?  It just seems strange that I am basically modeling two different amps at the same time, one on the FX100 and one on my Vox amp.  I have been just plugging headphones directly into the FX100 so I can tell what the sounds are supposed to sound like for now.

Any tips or advice are appreciated.  Again, I am not too knowledgeable about amps and/or effects, so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I think you partially answered your own question.

The FX100 does have an AMP Out that is meant to go in front of an amp, and yes, keeping the Vox as clean as possible will help.

If the Vox has an FX loop, you could run the FX100's Main Out(s) to the FX Return.

Yes, the FX100 works well straight to a PA.

I appreciate the response.

It does have an effects loop, but like I said, I am fairly new to this stuff, so I am not even sure how to use it.  How does that differ from just plugging the amplifi straight into the amp.  I have yet to recreate the sounds I get using headphones with the sounds running through the amp.

Also, since you are knowledgeable, is there somewhere online to simply browse all the published tone settings, maybe in alphabetical order or something, or can you only search on the app and by entering a search term?

Plugging into the front of the amp will route your guitar signal through the Vox's preamp, and thos the Vox's modeling.

Going through the FX loop bypasses the preamp and goes straight to the power amp, and is going to get you closest to what you hear in the headphones, but it is going to be mono (unless your Vox is stereo).

Makes sense, I will try it.  Thanks again for the responses.

Is there anywhere I can browse the published tones other than just doing a specific search on the app?

This doesn't answer your question but in case you haven't seen it yet it's really useful info:

Very useful indeed, i appreciate it.  If any of you work for or have any connections at Line 6, I think having an online catalog of the published tones for the FX 100 would really enhance the experience.  I could certainly see myself browsing for hours and checking out different tones that never occurred to me to try before.  Maybe even a place to request tones for songs we would like to try to match to see if someone could help (I guess I could do that here).  Maybe that's asking for too much, but the tone matching was the sole reason I bought the FX100.  Still love it either way though.
