cbrfreak
*Updated tone* http://line6.com/customtone/tone/822939/ I tried a different approach to getting overdrive with this patch. What do you think of it? Seems to have less fizz than the regular distortion and overdrive models in the Pod lineup.
alienux
I'll check this out when I get home. I'm a big fan of the album and love Gilmour's tone on this one.
cbrfreak
I hope it gives you a good platform to start from in getting that Island tone on your rig. Let me know your opinion of it. :D
cbrfreak
I guess by the underwhelming response that this patch liked very well. Without feedback on it I don't even know why. Oh well, I tried.

cbrfreak
Alright. I did notice that the mixer is panned hard left and hard right so You may want to bring those more to center if you aren't using dual amps or headphones with it. Metalchef
CBRfreak I'd that CBR as in a Honda CBR?
cbrfreak
CBRfreak I'd that CBR as in a Honda CBR? Yeah, it's a user name I've used for years. I used to race cbr's in the Supersport class locally.
Metalchef
My first bIke at 16 was a CBR 600 f3 smoking Joe's edition.
cbrfreak
I just updated this tone with a volume control for the overdrive section. Works pretty darn good now for those songs. For those that are following this. :)
alienux
So that patch is interesting. I like the sound, but on my gear it sounds a little muted and muffled. I believe Gilmour uses the switch position that combines a coil from the neck with the middle pickup. It sounds good there, but strangely better on the bridge double humbuckers on my guitar. I turned down the bass on one of the amps and it sounded better on my gear. Of course any patch is going to sound different on anybody else's equipment, but if I can tweak it and get it sounding less muffled with my gear, I think it could be a good patch. alienux
After posting my last response, I noticed that you have updated the patch. I'll give it a try, too. Out of curiosity, what did you change in the updated tone?
cbrfreak
Thanks for the feedback on this! I really appreciate it. I added OD control via the volume pedal and centered the mixer controls. I think that was all. Plus I turned all the switches back on for people that want to turn things on and off. Let me know if you like the new one better or not. Thanks! cbrfreak
Thinking about the muffled sound on your system, I suppose it could be that I set my amp controls to sound like David's dry tone and then built the patch on my Pod. My tone controls and presence are probably way different than your normal settings. What about with headphones? Still muffled?
alienux
I'm playing directly into a FRFR powered monitor, not into an amp, so that may have something to do with it (although I usually find the opposite to be true for me; anything that sounds good on my POD with headphones or FRFR speakers sounds more muffled if I instead plug it into my amp, without turning off studio direct mode). I'll try the new patch and play around with the tone some more when I get a chance.

Have a good one!
