rifcex
Hi, I just bought a Spider IV HD150 and a Spider 4x12 cabinet. I also have a Spider II 210 combo amp that stopped working, so I've been using it as a cabinet with a different amp. What I'm wondering is...What kind of wiring would I need to do to be able to hook up both cabinets, while still being able to use just the 210 cabinet alone? In other words, I want to use both cabinets at bigger venues, but just the 210 cabinet at smaller places. Is that possible? Or does the HD150 have to have two outputs always running? Also, how should I wire the 1/4 jack in the 210 to have proper impedence? I know that sounds like a lot of questions, but basically is it possible and how. fflbrgst
Yes, the HD150 needs to 'see' a load of at least 8 ohms on each outputs. Using only one output will unbalance the amp and eventually damage something on it. This FAQ page will give you some more information.
