Factory reset on a POD HD Pro

Hello,

I am trying to do a factory reset on a POD HD Pro to get all the original Line 6 tone settings back prior to selling the unit.

Through the Line 6 Knowledge Base I managed to find this article. This in turn says that to do a reset on an HD pro I need to watch this video here.

The video explains that you need to update the flash firmware first before you can reset the device. I have managed to update the firmware successfully but am still left with all my tone settings.

The video then says you need to watch yet another video to find out how to do the reset itself. But where is this other video? Anyone seen it?

Anyone from Line 6 actually know...? There seems to be scant info on line regarding how to do this.

Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Tony

PS - when I studied electronics years ago, we were taught the KIS principle - Keep It Simple  Line 6 please take note!!!

I've done it yesterday night!!!!! BUT .... I'm usig POD HD500X, so I hope it's the same....

Well the trick is to use Line6 Monkey software and update ... or better... re-write the firmware on the POD. During this proces the software ask you if you want to erase the CUSTOM tone (if I remember two times)..... if you press YES you have your POD at factory default

Just remember.... this work for 500X I don't really know for HD Pro

i believe it was referring to this video which is only for hd300/400 units. the instructions for HD PRO does seem confusing as the factory reset instruction leads to nowhere after reinstalling the flash firmware

i guess the only workaround is overwriting all the preset/set list with a blank one after the factory/global reset

First you need to reinstall the firmware. During this process you choose between keeping your existing presets or overwriting them. If you want the original factory presets you need to choose to replace/overwrite your existing presets (make a backup first if you want to restore them).

Then you should perform a Global Settings reset (this is different from restoring factory presets) followed by pedal calibration.

just curious...is it the same for a POD HD PRO? The thread starter is using an HD PRO and not a 500/500X
