Hi, apologies if this has already been asked but when using the DT amps with the HD500 using the L6 link I understand that the power amp side configures to match the selected amp model but do the preamp tubes have any influence on the modelled amp??

No tube preamps in the DT series.  The preamp section is digital, so the paired with a HD500(x) over L6 link the preamp is provided by the POD.  The DT itself has 4 different digitial preamps in it, that match a couple of the preamps in the HD500.

There is a slight difference between the DT50 and the DT25....Basically, the 12AX7 tube(s) are part of the power amp technically. In the DT50 the extra 12AX7 (there are two) is a single triode buffer (Not Cascaded) and both have a 12AX7 Inverter....The buffer in the DT25 is FET or some such...
