Piano effect

Hi guys,

I'm new to the amplifi, and just getting to learn all of the effects and how to best use the settings etc...

Do you know if there is anyway to emulate a piano sound?  I wouldn't know where to begin to be honest!

Thanks so much for any help

Ha, I would if I could play piano!

Yes, just like you can get pedals that make your guitar sound like an organ or synth or whatever, just hoping to get piano like sounds out of the guitar.  Can this be done?

Not really.

There are programs that can translate your guitar signal into MIDI which you could feed to other software are hardware.

There are also special pick-ups that can be installed on guitars to output MIDI.

If you are looking to write piano tracks for your music, it's likely easier to get a small MIDI keyboard and learn, even if it's just to program some piano parts.

If you are good at playing guitar you might be surprised at how quickly you may be able to learn the basics.

Or you could look into Toontrack EZKeys.

As Triryche says, that's a MIDI thing, not an effect appliable to audio. In the MIDI instance you're triggering a sample of a real piano from a sound module, not modifying the original guitar sound.

Well you learned to play guitar didn't you? Why not piano?

if you do decide to get a keyboard and tinker, get some simple music theory books or search on line.

This will accelerate your learning on both instruments IMHO .

Good luck!

I've been learning how to play the keys off and on with the Line 6 KB37 Studio. So much else can be done with it too. I'm happy I got it and am improving slowly with playing the keys. I didn't think I could learn to play it either but learning a bit here and there.has proved otherwise.

someone mentioned EZKeys... fantastic program for what it does... you don't have to play anything, the program can do it all for you.  Just build the chord progression you want and fit the pieces together.  All on your computer.

As far as I know the Amplifi doesn't have a model for that however you could get a pedal and use it with your Amplifi, I think that would be your best bet.
