rakha
Hi, I tried to update the flash memory to version 2.62 but it threw an error saying "Pod HD500 update failed. (Code 80007211). Firmware update timed out waiting for response from the device. Try to update again, making sure the cables are still connected". As I understand it's a connection issue but Line 6 monkey sees the POD HD500. It just can't identify the currrent flash memory version saying "Unknown". Firmware is up to date (1.04) and also the drivers etc are updated... Can you please help?
immyjay666
You described my exact problem! And on top of that I wasn't getting any sound out of the unit. I was going nuts!!! I tried all the suggestions on every forum I could find! (99% of which were something like "try a different USB slot" etc etc) I finally fixed it when I saw somewhere a person said you could do a "reset" by holding the left side of the "nav" button down while you power it up. As soon as I did that I had sound again and it no longer said "unknown" in Line 6 Monkey for "flash version". I am happy again! 1 1
underthefloor
I was having the same issue yesterday. The reset didn't work for me because apparently my flash had gotten corrupted and was stuck, just showing "Update flash" on the HD's display. I tried every suggestion that had been mentioned on this site under other code 80007211 threads. None of which worked. What finally did work was uninstalling all Line 6 software; Monkey, edit, drivers, etc. Then reinstalling them from the L6 site. Downloaded the current flash version from the L6 site directly to my computer. Open Monkey....use the "Install from file" button in the lower right of the Monkey screen. It'll let you pick the downloaded file directly from your computer and install from there. This is what worked and got my HD500X operational again as well as updated. For more detail see this thread: http://line6.com/support/topic/7625-we-need-a-solution-for-code-80007211-error/
snowgoose50
The reset suggested by immyjay666 worked for me - after following the advice of the Tasmanian Line6 service agent at Amptune, Greg Burns, who is also a computer repairer. He suggested using a USB2 port on the back of my desktop computer. Apparently those on the front are often dodgy. He also suggested avoiding the USB3 slots (which have a blue plastic section inside the port). My sequence was: Download the Flash update file from the Line6 page Use Monkey 1.71 Turn on POD and connect to computer Use Monkey to upgrade USB Firmware to 1.04. Disconnect/Connect power cord as directed Disconnect power cord. Connect power cord while holding down the Down key on the Navigator. The POD screen says "Update Flash" Use Monkey to Update Flash from File, using the file downloaded before. Disconnect/Connect power cord as directed. Disconnect power cord. Connect power cord while holding down the Left key on the Navigator. My unit now works and I can edit it with HD500 Edit, which wouldn't talk to it before.

scottchapman34
Line 6 makes garbage... Moderate that you sell out lollipops... Returning a second POD HD500X because it's an unreliable piece of lollipop that can't be trusted.

ctrader101
Ok what fixed my UPDATE FLASH probem was this. First use a usb on the back of your computer, second go to line six monkey and go to update flash. When it ask you if you would like to save any of your settings, hit no(hopefully you have your stuff backed up). Then it will reinstall flash, and YAY it worked. It kinda sux to have to do everything again, but at least it wasn't the end of my board, I just got it!!!! I hope this helps, and remember, "IF
5jamjwji8
plugged in the USB cable, and then I was able to do a factory reset (left nav pad and power on). Then I fired up Line 6 Monkey and I could update the flash memory (I downloaded the update from the Line 6 software page) via where I downloaded the file to. Now everything works as expected.
