bond19 21 Posted May 8, 2015 Searching for any news on a firmware update for the Firehawk, I see that Line 6 has recently put a updater for Firehawk online, I am optimistic a new firmware update will follow soon.
mcbeddall 109 Posted May 8, 2015 Where are you seeing this?

kimdrawlings 0 Posted May 8, 2015 Talked to support today about some questions. Was told that there is a new firmware update coming in a day or so. He recommended to do the update via USB to PC. He said it is much faster and more stable to do the update that way.
bond19 21 Posted May 8, 2015 Thanks for the info kimdrawlings- Did he say if your preset tones will stay intact? I have done a system reset twice, and lost all my presets both times- if it happens again after an update I may see if the Firehawk can actually fly.... out the window- LOL! silverhead 8,807 Posted May 8, 2015 A firmware update with Firehawk will replace existing presets on the device. Back up all your presets to My Tones before updating.
bond19 21 Posted May 8, 2015 A firmware update with Firehawk will replace existing presets on the device. Back up all your presets to My Tones before updating. If that is so, I will sit on the fence for a day or two, and find out from user feedback if the firmware update is worth it. Thanks for your input Silverhead. Line6Tony 1,350 Posted May 9, 2015 To be clear, only a factory reset will wipe all the presets, not an update itself (though some updates may require a factory reset).
silverhead 8,807 Posted May 9, 2015 Thanks for the clarification Tony. Sorry for my misinformation. I presume the release notes for the firmware update will clarify whether or not a factory reset is required after the update. So users should carefully read the release notes to know whether or not they need to back up all presets before updating (although it is good practice to do so anyway). jhefty 0 Posted May 10, 2015 I don't have a USB cable for the Firehawk. Will you be able to update via the app as well, or should I go get a cable?
silverhead 8,807 Posted May 10, 2015 Yes you can update via the app and its Bluetooth connection to the Firehawk. However it takes much longer because of the relatively low speed of Bluetooth.

shellsjoint 0 Posted May 24, 2015 Line 6, Will this update fix the bugs on the Firehawk?
mcbeddall 109 Posted May 24, 2015 We all hope so, just waiting for a new firmware to be released, it's 1-2 weeks away
bond19 21 Posted May 24, 2015 I don't mind the wait, if the issues that need to be addressed are being ironed out. To Line 6: Lets get the functionality issues worked out first. Extra options can wait until firehawk works properly.
