FX Loop behavior.

Recommended Posts

I thought I might be able to maximize the use of some buttons by creating a few patches that have fx assignments doubled up on a single button. For example, Chorus and Flanger assigned to FS1 so that you can toggle between the two. Then I assigned the expression pedal to control the mix from 0 to around 75%.

The problem I am seeing here is that, with the expression pedal all the way back at 0%, I can still hear a slight chorus effect (or flanger) when, technically, it should be bypassed at 0%.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

Sorry if this has been previously covered.

Try re calibrating your pedal.

(also... Not sure why you titled this thread FX Loop behaviour?)

HA, sorry about the title of the thread. I am thinking about too many things this morning.

Yes, I have calibrated the pedal.

In HD Edit, I can see the MIX knob moving to 0%

Does this only happen when you are assigning the two FX to one switch and using the EXP as you describe, or is it inherent in the FX themselves? In other words, if you have a simple use of the FX in a preset, when it is turned ON and MIX at 0, do you still hear the faint FX?

I will have to try this later tonight.

Have you tried unpluging your cable connected to EXP2, repluging the cable, and then "send selected"?

Yes, EXP2 is working properly and controlling the wet/dry mix on my delay.

Tested again last night. I have a single button set up to toggle between chorus and flanger. when MIX is at 0% and I am using a Soldano Crunch tone, I can still detect a bit of modulation. If I change the button assignment to toggle a single effect, chorus or flanger, and shut it off, I do not hear it. With chorus on a single button by itself and EXP1 assigned to control the wet/dry mix, I can still detect modulation at 0% wether I control that from EXP1 or use my mouse to adjust the knob in HD Edit.
