Cygnus64
Hi, how do I get Sonar to not "see" my Pod HD? I'm using the analog outs from the POD into my other interface, Boss BR 800. All I want to do with the POD and the computer is to use HD Edit. Sonar doesn't like having two interfaces plugged in, it tends to act weird even if one is not doing audio. Advice? Thanks. rd2rk
No. In fact, under Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum, I can't get my Fast Track Pro to work at all if the POD is connected. Even if I run my sims in standalone mode, no sound till I unplug the POD. Since I only use Edit when I'm making bulk changes, it's NBD for me, I just make minor adjustments directly on the POD. It would be nice, though, and if I happen to run across a really good deal on an old laptop I might go for it, doesn't take much CPU to run Edit. line-6-user
I used to use sonar, and it gave me problems with audio. I am glad that I found Reaper, very easy to use with the HD500 and HD Edit. All I do is, first connect the Pod to the laptop with the USB, run HD Edit, start Reaper DAW and record. You must make sure to start the HD Edit first, then you can run any other program. Really, you shouldn't need another interface.
DunedinDragon
I'm in the same boat as rd3rk. In fact I didn't even realize there was an issue with Sonar in this regard because I only occassionally plug the USB in from my POD when I specifically want to use the edit program, which isn't all that often. The POD is always connected to my MOTU audio interface via line outs. Whatever editing I may need to do while recording I do on the POD's front panel. I find it much faster that way than the edit program which always has to pause with each change to coordinate it with the POD. I agree the edit program interface is nice, but I learned early on to master the POD interface because it's faster and it's just not practical to depend on the edit program to adjust things on the POD when I'm performing live. Now the only thing I depend on with the edit program for is making backup files of my patches.
clintmartin
I use HD edit and Sonar all the time. I always start sonar first and then HD edit. Sonar will ask if I want to use the POD for audio or midi...I say no and it works fine. You can only have one usb soundcard going at a time (I use a Presonus 44VSL) so Sonar thinks your trying to change. I believe I've also started HD Edit before Sonar without problems before. I would check in preferences (In Sonar) and see which soundcard it's trying to use.
