Tiopapo
Problem: Have a Line Six Spider IV 150 W amp and yesterday while playing at church the amp started smoking from the left side (facing the amp) turned it off and unplugged it since it was smoking….later tried to turn it on…nothing! Question: Do you have any idea what happened? I bought it in Nov 2012 and it has being working fine. What would repairing the unit will look like ($)? PS. I did have a monitor connected to one of the out 1/4 jacks to hear my guitar while playing. I did check the instructions and it says not to use a a guitar cable which I use but to use a speaker cable….don't have any idea what that is. Could that have cause the problem? Thanks, Tio
fflbrgst
The 2x12 has built-in speakers, why would you plug in 1 speaker for monitoring? I'm not sure, but this probably cuts out both of the internal speakers? If so, you only had one side of the output connected (there are left and right speaker jacks), then you imbalanced the amp causing something to burn out.. You will need to bring it to an authorized service center for evaluation and repair.
