Merrihew1
I have an Amplifi 75 on the way to me. I have a POD HD400 that I manage with my iMac, and thought I could do the same with the Amplifi. I have tried to install the Amplifi Remote to my old iPhone 4, that didn't work. So, I went to Amazon and checked the Kindle store on a whim. They had the remote and I downloaded it. Then, set to research how to make the Android system work. Amazon says that I have to download the MS Utility at line6.com, but which MS utility (the Kindle is Andriod OS). I've seen a lot of complaining and needing Bluetooth. My Kindle HD doesn't have Bluetooth, but it does have USB. If anyone could get me to functionality, it would be greatly appreciated. The simpler the instructions, the better for me. I've figured out a lot of tech stuff in my life, but would rather get it right the first time rather screwing it up 10X first.
Merrihew1
I have a feeling that the Kindle isn't going to work because of the lack of Bluetooth. But, I will have an awesome Bluetooth streaming audio player. Should I just open a support ticket?
silverhead
I don't think you need to open a support ticket. There's nothing wrong with your AMPLIFi device. No support needed. It is presumably working as designed and expected - with Bluetooth devices. Seems you would like it to work with a non-Bluetooth device. It won't, and I expect that's all that you'll be told in response to a support ticket.
Merrihew1
I waaannnnt it function as a Bluetooth device since I have an iMac and an iPhone 4 (and watch the app crash before launching). I think it's reasonable to try to find a way to make it work with the expensive computing equipment I already own........ ya know.
silverhead
I waaannnnt it function as a Bluetooth device .....By "it" I presume you mean your Kindle Fire HD (since the AMPLIFi already functions as a Bluetooth device). I think you'll get more help about whether that is possible in the Kindle Fire HD community forums, not here. If and when your Kindle becomes a Bluetooth device you can try running the AMPLIFi Remote app again, and if you have any issues we may be able to help here.
Merrihew1
I agree with you, silverhead, that the Kindle isn't a Bluetooth device and it isn't going to communicate with Amplifi. I was "fishing" for someone that uses the Kindle HD and, predictably, it makes sense that no one is using it because the HD doesn't have Bluetooth. So, here's what I did. I had the Amplifi Remote app downloaded from iTunes. I deleted it, and downloaded it from my iPhone 4. It downloaded the last compatible app. I have the App on my phone. I expect to receive the Amplifi tomorrow, I will do the Firmware update on my iMac and, then, see how the Remote works on the unit.
