cannot update helix

Hi, looking for a little help...

 

I have had the Helix for about week (love how it sounds!!!), but I cannot update to the new firmware. I have installed the Helix app (1.04); the latest drivers (1.77); the updater (1.07).    

 

In my "Devices and Printer" Helix is recognized.  When I open the app, I get "Helix Device not connected."  When I open the the updater, I get a black box and "Select device to update." But there is nothing to select.

 

I have used 2 different USB cables; 2 different computers; and several hours installing, uninstalling, reinstalling software. To no avail...at this point I'm stuck.

 

Windows 7 machine.  
Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the usb cable from Helix, and uninstall the drivers. Reboot, and then reinstall the the drivers without plugging in the Helix unit. Then reboot again. When Windows 7 has rebooted, plug in the Helix to a usb connector. Windows should then find Helix and connect to it. At this point you should be able to see it connected, and update it in Windows 7. Hope this helped.

I would suggest opening up a ticket with customer support, they have access to a little more information via your Line 6 account that may help find the source of the issue.

Thank you for your replies.

 

Unfortunately, I'm out of town the next 2 days, so I won't be able to do either of your suggestions until Friday.  It is not urgent...I just want to update to get those Matchless amps in my arsenal.  Loved the Matchless amps in my XT Live. I was disappointed that my POD HD500 didn't have them!
