mykejb
Is it possible to set the headphone output to mono? I use phones at night so I don't disturb the family but when I'm using the Helix live it'll be in mono so I want to hear more like what I'll get through the speaker rather than all the nice ping-pongy echos, chorus, phaser etc Mike
willjrock
Just use a mono adapter. Id bet the headphone outs cant be altered in that way...at least not thru the menus.
silverhead
Correct - the headphones output is stereo, and there's no mono option. You will need a proper stereo-to-mono adapter.
mkornell
Or ensure the last effect in your chain is mono. Even if that's just volume control. The Helix will collapse a stereo signal when going through a mono effect.

A mono block might be your best option if you don't want to use an adapter and also if you want to get sound to both earpieces in the headphone. If you don't want to use a mono block in your presets perhaps you could use an adapter like the one below although I think it would only provide sound to one side of the headphones. Also the adapter's description indicates that it is for splitting a mono signal to left and right so I am just assuming it would sum to mono in the opposite direction, something I know does not always work. http://www.zzounds.c...419?siid=121896

Combining outputs may cause some issues inside of the headphone amp in helix, so be careful. In addition to what's already been said, you can go into mixer and collapse to mono, or into a DAW track on computer and collapse to mono.
