G10 - Feedback on latency with Helix

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm interested in the G10 and own a Helix. I'm wondering about the cumulative latency of using both in my signal chain. That is, based on testing, is it perceptable at all in typical playing conditions? It's ok if you don't have a direct answer, but on the other hand if you can say with certainty I wouldn't be able to perceive it, that would be great information to consider as I look at buying one.

The radio featured in the G10 is the same technology found in our existing Relay products, resulting in extremely short latency.

I have never felt latency with our Wireless units. This experience doesn't differ wether I plug into my 1978 Marshall JMP, or my HELIX with Relay, especially the G10. Keep in mind that the G10 has an indoor range of 50-feet.

Hope this helps!  :D

I haven't used the G10, but I use the G75 with my Helix all the time. No perceptibly latency with it, in my opinion. I think the actual latency of the G75 (and the G10) is like 1.5 ms and through the Helix is probably about 2-3ms at most (a little more if you're using its effects loops). Consider you gain about 1ms of latency for every foot your away from your monitor or amp.

I have the G10 since yesterday and there is no latency/delay in combination with the Helix.
