1024 & 2048 IRs. Time in ms?

Hi Guys,

 

Does anyone know what sample rate the Helix is using internally or the time in ms for the 1024 and 2048 IRs?

 

I'm trying to set up my IR stuff on the computer to create IRs for the Helix and have the ability to set the IR Length in ms which should then match what I'm hearing when loaded onto the Helix.

I have done a little experiment and it looks like the IRs stored in the Helix are 32bit samples at 48K.

 

so rounded up 2048 is aprox 43ms and 1024 is aprox 22ms

Yup, so they're great as cab+mic models, including maybe a handful of early reflections, but not usable as reverbs the way DAW-based IRs can be. Thanks for posting your results for others who might be curious!

OwnHammer advertises their cab IRs as having '200 and 500 ms decay tail lengths' .

 

Does that mean they have some pretty "roomy" cab IRs, pulses have really long tails of nothing, or that the Helix is truncating some useful late room reflections?

They say in the pdf that come with the purchase that the Helix cab:s is the same as their 200 ms cabs

Speaking of IRs that may be useful for a DAW but not so much for the Helix, check this site out. It has IRs in multiple formats for natural and man-made structures including one which it claims is the longest echo of any man-made structure.
