Global Gate

Recommended Posts

Is there any way to set a Global Gate which will apply to all patches?  Thanks for you help.

No, not in the current scheme of things.

You'll be tasked with adding it manually - but I'll take this moment to remind you that, if you're short on blocks available, or just want to use what's already there, there's a gate at the input ready to activate and use.

As far as the gate I use the feature in an input block that I just copy to each and every preset I want that same setting to be use in.  It is quite effective for me.  YMMV

I have even created a "my favorites 1 & 2" for blocks I want to have to copy and paste as needed in other presets as I build more.

The most effective would be a sidechained gate that senses on the input but actually gates after all the gain. Kinda like the NS2 but then actually good. ;) The beta software on the GSP added that and it's heaven, you can build insane patches (DS1 on full gain into an SLO for instance) and it doesn't give a beep unless you want it to. :)

Yes that is definitey the way the gate should work.  I was actually surprised when I added a gate after my amp block to find that it didn't do this already .. it makes the gate a lot less effective.
