victorloher
I know this has got to be simple, but just can't see how to delete a preset either in the Helix app or on the Helix itself. Thanks. Vic
duncann
Copy a blank preset, or 'New Preset', onto the one you want to delete.
victorloher
Kind of a round about way that I won't have thought of, but that will do it. Thanks Duncann!
zooey
To put it differently, you can't actually delete a preset, in the sense that that preset SLOT doesn't go away, there are a fixed number of them in the Helix hardware. All you can do is replace it with "nothing", and an empty preset with that name is recognizably "nothing". I've considered renaming it to "" (empty name), not sure if you can do that or not, and anyway, life's too short, we all no what "New Preset" is. Tcamponovo
You can also go into a preset and select "Clear Block" on each block to clear out everything on the preset. Then go back and build your own. It's pretty easy to do. You can rename the preset the same way.
duncann
Oh yeah. Forgot about that function. You can also hit the action button on any selected block and tell it to "clear all blocks" at one time.

bsd512
There's also the "clear all blocks" available on the unit itself. On the preset - press the Action button. Clear all Blocks should be one of the rotary/push button knob selections. That clears out all the blocks leaving only the preset name. Verne-Bunsen
That clears out all the blocks leaving only the preset name. As well as any settings in the input/output blocks!
Digital_Igloo
I don't believe Clear All Blocks resets your Input/Output blocks, aside from removing any 1B or 2B inputs/outputs. Also, the Command Center is still active, so you'd need to clear all the commands there as well. Yes, copying/pasting a blank preset over an existing one is the fastest/easiest way to completely clear a preset.

I actually have very few empty slots in my set lists. I like lots of choices.

Ensuring that you have this empty setlist on hand is best managed at the time of a firmware update. Prior to updating, backup all your setlists individually (as well as doing a full backup if you wish, which includes IRs and Global Settings). After updating the firmware I then: - perform a factory reset to install the new factory setlists which may include new or modified presets and definitely includes the empty User setlists. - Export the factory setlists individually, including one of the empty User setlists, so that I will be able to replace these if desired at any time without having to perform a factory reset - Import my previously Exported custom setlists. Having done all this as a routine practice I can now Import any useful setlist (including an empty setlist) at any time.
