crunchpicker 0 Posted October 11, 2016 Hi all Just noticed Line 6 Spider V amps have just arrived.Does anyone know if the Amp Models/Effects are based on the Pod Hd or the newer Line 6 Helix Engine?
captainnemo70 20 Posted October 11, 2016 not overly sure, but i doubt very much theyre based on helix. ptobably based on whatever the previous spider was, or maybe the firehawk
crunchpicker 0 Posted October 11, 2016 Well perhaps a Line 6 staff member can enlighten us, on what the Amp Models/Effects engines are based on the Spider V amp ?
vmoncebaiz 45 Posted October 11, 2016 It is an updated version of the amp/fx model set found on AMPLIFi, which is honestly a massive upgrade for the Spider Amp series that have always been their own separate model set. Also the models have been tweaked for the newly designed box and speakers.

The Amplifi seems to be, in turn, an updated version of the POD X3 models. I used to have a Pod X3 but I sold it years ago to get an HD500, but weeks ago I found the manual and looked at the models and they seem to be similar for the most part. http://line6.com/support/topic/10189-fx100-vs-pod-x3/
ngronlund 0 Posted January 23, 2017 I can't seem to find info on the modeling engine either. I did notice that Line 6's Firehawk 1500 online info screams at you that it used the HD modeling engine. The fact that Line 6 is silent the Spider V modeling engine causes me to have to assume that it's older X3 or XT technology. Any clarification Line 6? According to Digital Igloo, the modeling engine in the Spider V series is an updated and reworked version of the Pod Farm modeling engine. I think they started with that version because there are so many different amps modeled, and then massaged them to work with the Spider series.
