Guest Anthony
Hello, I used to play my 3-120 religiously, and I swore by it, I joined the military and had not played in 6 years. I'm getting back into it and no where near a guitar center. My question is which does anybody recommend Iv seen bad reviews on the 5-240 and really good ones on the 4-120. Or should I go back to what I know and get an used 3?
fflbrgst
Ultimately, its up to you. The Spider 5's have just come out, there are bound to be some software patches coming through for a while, just like when the 4 came out. I wouldn't advise buying a 3, only because the amp itself could be 10 years old and its expected lifespan is unknown. Also, the 4 has much better modeling of both amps and FX, and allows USB connectivity.
BillBee
All versions of the amp will have people saying good and bad things. The V just looks like it is the next gen with some pretty cool features (love the wireless). New = warranty too. All in all its not like the V will sound any worse as each progression has gotten a bit better. I still have an old II for headphone jamming during football games (when the wife is in the room watching too) :D
Guest Anthony
Good stuff, good stuff, thanks for the fast replies! Old amp was definetly one of my first concerns as well. The wireless definetly sounds like a nice feature. The head phones are the best haha my wife does not enjoy noise either. I think it may be 4 coming my way, the 3 was such a versatile amp, I feel the 4 should be just as good, again thank you!
