Timmsie95
Hi, would anyone be able to tell me if the "Variax Digital Interface Cable" works for connecting the Helix Rack to the Helix Control? I assume it does, but I don't want to buy it unless i know it will. It just looks sturdier than the included ethercon cable. http://store.line6.com/variax-digital-cable.html Thanks for any help! Absolutely you want to use the VDI cable! The included cable is not ethercon but really just an ordinary Ethernet cable intended strictly for use with the USB adapter connected to your computer for updating the firmware and using Workbench. Although you could use an ordinary Ethernet cable the VDI cable includes locking ends on the collar rather than tabs on the cable which prevent inadvertently ripping out the electronics on your Variax or the Helix. Timmsie95
Great, thanks! I've only used my Helix in the studio since I got it, but I'm going to be gigging pretty soon, so I'll need to get one.
MonkeyXT
Seconded - I use the supplied Ethernet cable at home, but my travel bag has my Line6 Ethercon cable in it; not only are the locking ends more robust, the cable itself seems like it's sleeved in a nicer, heavier fashion. It's a beefier cable for the job.
