A loop cannot be saved and recalled for later use.
You can record a loop while a drum beat is playing, but the drum beat is technically not a part of the loop.
You can overdub layers on a loop, I'm not sure on limit. I believe after a very high number overdubs on a loop before the older layers drop in volume under new overdubs.

You can stop the recorded loop from playing by a quick double push on the function button. And then start up your recorded loop again with a single push. But the recorded loop is deleted when you turn off the amp. I don't think theres any way to save the recording in the amp for later sessions.
