HighAndDry
I just purchased an hd500x. I have to say I like it a lot. However on some of the new patches I'm creating I'm not able to get the volume pedal to function. Why not?

However on some of the new patches I'm creating I'm not able to get the volume pedal to function. Why not? 9 out of 10 times, user error. Are you doing this only on the floor unit, or are you using HD500X Edit? If the latter, you should see confirmation of it graphically. Save it, and send to the unit to confirm. Do this on a preset by preset basis, then close the Editor & disconnect USB connections. You should be up and running by then.
pianoguyy
Let's first make sure you understand ---- It is not a volume pedal. Nor is it a wah pedal. It is an expression pedal. If you want something to work on the expression pedal, you need to assign it. First you need to choose what effect you want in your chain, then you need to assign it to the pedal. HighAndDry
Thank you everyone. I have no doubt it is user error. I just can't pinpoint what I'm doing wrong on certain patches. I know how to assign switches and or the expression pedal, but I have not been able to crack the reason on a couple of them. And I have definitely downloaded all four manuals even printed them out
