Naming snapshots via editor?

Is naming snapshots via editor possible? I cant do it. I can name patches but not snapshots. It is time consuming to name them via rack or floor version.

I already sent a suggestion to update this to new firmware but is it possible already?

Yes it is possible. Select the patch you want to rename in the editor, then click on the number (left of the snapshot dropdown) und you'll get a menu where you can choose. Choose "rename" and enter your desired name for the snapshot.

Hi again Soultrainer,

Well, you really are full of questions, so let's get to it with this one.

Yes, you can rename snapshots in the Editor, you just didn't look deep enough.

A little bit of research on your part would have turned up this little nugget of information.

O.K Rather than type all this stuff out again, I will simply point you to the source.

I would also suggest that you remove your request for an update to something that already exists!

Research first please.

Does asking on an appropriate forum count as research? :p

Ouch!

Well, yes, I suppose it does count, but it took me less than a minute to find that result on this forum. My research must have been a little more specific 😜

At least I didn't simply suggest that he should go away and RTFM!

LOL, no pain intended. :)

Thing is, you never know a person's personal circumstances and hence, why they're asking. They may be dyslectic, or have limited vision (like me) and struggle with manuals, particularly PDF.

Hi Andy,

I never intended my reply to "Soultrainer" to come across as snarky, but the original post did (along with some others) seemed to have been made by someone who had not even bothered to read the manual. I usually try to be helpful with queries about Helix stuff, or try to point people to the place where they can find an answer. Most users on this form find solutions for their queries via YouTube, Google or the Owners Manual. In this particular case it appeared that the most basic guide would be the solution required. Although I never actually suggested it, I would expect the usual response, on any user forum anywhere on the internet, to be along the lines of RTFM!

I recently had a personal email communication with "Soultrainer" and there are genuine medical reasons that his posts appear to be so "odd". In my reply to him, I mentioned the fact (as you had also noted) that we have to realise that when people post on forums like this, other forum users have no idea of that persons status - social, medical or otherwise. Predictive text on most messaging systems today can make someone appear dyslexic even though they are not. Therefore unless you post with a signature file stating, "I'M BLIND" or "WHEELCHAIR USER", or whatever, you leave yourself wide open to a great deal of ridicule and abuse. Things written on screen can be interpreted so many ways, both good and bad. Without having to give away any personal details, it may help in these circumstances if the original post was prefixed with something along the lines of - "This may seem like a stupid question but..." That may have the effect of getting more empathy for the questioner (not guaranteed). I realise this should be unnecessary, but sadly we are not all telepathic.
