Hookup Spiderjam Through Ux2 Via Rca Jacks

Are you running RCA from the spider Jam into the 1/4" line inputs on the back of the UX2? I would think "S/PDF" signal is lower than a "Line". Might work though but you may get a low volume. Might be better to run into the instrument jack in front.

Not tried it yet, since I was a bit concerned about the Spiderjam "maybe?" Putting a elec signal that could harm the UX2 ..... .??

Good info on possible sound loss.... So you are suggesting "somehow" going from RCA jacks (with some Y adapter) into the Insturment jack on front of UX2?

Tried it, but no success ...

Set up Spiderjam output routing to be "  All Normal to RCA and Phones

using Y adapter... from the RCA jack...... tried it both into the Insturment jack of the UX2, and also tried the Line jack on back of the UX2

Started up POD Farm

Could barely hear sound.... and.... lost of distortion

Thinking....i'm still missing some setting somewhere???

I'm no expert here, but now that you've tried it and know it doesn't work it's probably 'cause S/PDF just isn't compatible with anything other than a S/PDF input/output. I don't think you hurt anything by trying. I've tried hook-up's that didn't work too and just move on 'till I find what works. Just don't stop asking questions when you're not sure, you'll learn more that way.

You ould use the headphones out from the Spider Jam into the UX2 monitor in, I think? There are other options I'm sure.

Have you tried micing the cab using the UX2? Works great.

Hadn't thought about the phone out jack.... Ill give that a try. Mic the amp I think would introduce too many unwanted sounds. Doing this in my home.

I hear ya on the background noise while micing. Do you have an empty closet or room? That can help out a lot with the background noise issue, sometimes, LOL

No, not practical to move all my equipment that way. Also, would still be some background noises. Appreciate your response though. Thanks.

The Direct Recording Outputs should do the trick.  The headphone out could work as well.  Make sure that you have the Line-Ins selected as your inputs in POD Farm

From the SJ manual . . .

Output Routing for RCA Jacks

You can choose what signals are sent to the RCA jacks on the back of the unit:

• Press the Tone / Settings button three times to show the additional functions.

• Turn the Select knob to highlight Output Routing.

• Press Right on the 4-way button.

• To have everything come out of both Spider Jam’s on-board speakers and the RCA jacks, turn the Select

knob to select Normal.

• To have the Guitar come out of Spider Jam’s 12-inch speaker and everything else come out of the RCA

jacks, turn the Select knob to select Performance.

This is how I had it setup...... See my earlier post. Didn't seem to work.
