It's been a while since I have had a line6 product. I am new to the helix or will have it next week. I have a mesa dual rectifier 100w solo head. My question is will the helix switch my channels so I don't have to tap dance. I've been using stomp boxes for a while and the tap dancing is getting old. I have searched on this topic with no real answer. thank you for the help.

From what I understand.. the new mesas are grounded in between switches so that causes a problem with the way the helix controls the amp.  Helix uses open collector transistor which is not compatible.
I'd say don't throw away your footswitch just yet.

I use my Helix with a Mesa MK V, and I have not even tried the built in switching jack on the Helix.  I use a Voodoo Labs Control Switcher, which will work up to 4 footswitches, and works with midi CC messages or program change messages (I use CC).  This will work with just about any amp, and at around $100, it's not that big an additional cost to not have to worry about compatibility.

Thanks for the replies guys. So I am guessing I'm gonna have to sink a lil more money into this set up to switch my channels then. so the VOODOo control switcher will work then you say. Any other cables I need to get .
