L3m/L3t - confusion with crossover frequency

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on how effective the Low-frequency driver is in the L3m/L3t when playing a 6-string guitar in standard tuning. The specs say the LF1 Low-pass crossover frequency is 250hz. Even in standard E tuning on a 6-string, the LF driver should be activating on the lower notes right? I have read on this forum that unless you are using 7 or 8 string guitars, or a bass guitar, the Low-frequency driver of the L3m/L3t will not activate and as such you might as well just buy the L2m/L2t for 6-string guitar.

I play hard rock and metal, but don't really tune down past drop D. I'm just wondering if I will get more low end out of the L3 vs the L2? Thanks!
