delacloche
I recently downloaded Audacity with the intention to do some straightforward recording and overdubbing. Although I am monitoring my guitar through Helix on headphones, when I play back the track I have recorded I am not getting anything through my headphones only through the internal speakers of my laptop. Is this a USB issue? Help appreciated.
Joepeggio
Playback devices in settings? Right click speaker icon lower right corner.
jbuhajla
You have to set playback in your software to playback on Helix ASIO, then pick which USB channels.
delacloche
Helix ASIO? Not sure what this is. Can you please put this in words that an old non tech savvy guy would understand.

When you are in your DAW, you should be able to choose the Helix ASIO Driver as your output device. That is the driver your PC will use (Audio Stream Input/Output driver) Then for individual track outputs, you should be able to choose USB 1-7 to the Helix. Joepeggio
ASIO is Windows' fancy way of assigning audio devices. It allows for better quality recording and sound.
Triryche
Audacity does not support ASIO out of the box, but you can compile it to support ASIO. I would recommend giving Reaper a try, it is free to demo and IMHO well worth the $60 for the license.

gunpointmetal
Get Reaper. Read about how drivers work with Windows audio.
