Radial JDX with Helix LT?

I am new to this forum, but I have had my Helix LT for a few months now. I play 2-3 shows a week, and I have been using my Orange Head and a Carvin 2x12 cabinet for my main setup.

I am trying to consolidate down a bit, and I was looking in the Radial JDX Direct Drive, so I can get a similar sound and then just going direct to the main mixer for FOH.

Does anyone have any experience with this or a similar setup?

My current setup is as follows:

Helix  1/4 Out > Orange Head FX Return
Helix Guitar IN > Guitar
I then use a MIC for the 2x12 cab.

Agree with pbatts, the JDX are used between Amp and Cab to capture the full rig signal and send to FOH. If you want to scale down (and I understand taking amp and cab out of the Rig) - then use direct out from Helix to Mixer.

And add Amp and Cab in your presets in the Helix.

Try it - it works very well.

When I transitioned to pedalboard/amp to Helix, I just used the same XLR cable my cabinet mic was using, set my Helix XLR output to mic level, and that was it. That is all you need to do for the transition. Helix XLR out direct to main mixer, done. You can set your XLR outs on Helix to mic or line level, so be aware of that.

Yes, this is true for the physical connections, but, as DanishMic posted, you'll want to use Helix Amp and Cab models or IRs instead of Cab models in your Presets.

Yes, that. I am assuming he is already using amp models since he is going from Helix to the FX return on the Orange amp. Definitely add cab models to the presets.
