MUST HELP!!! Spider V240 modulation issues

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else notice a change in tone and respond when they are using the expression pedal to control pitch shift.

When I assign the expression pedal to a pitch shift modulation with an overdriven tone, I notice a slight response delayet and a drop in drive. Sort of like I turned the drive down and walked to another room while using wireless.

The delay time between playing a note and sound coming out is probably fractions of a millisecond but it's definitely noticeable. Then when I change to a tone without that modulation the problem goes away. Hmmm. I don't know man.

Pitch effects are resource heavy. Where in the chain do you have them. I notice some latency when using them with exp. It's not real bad, but I don't expect it to be real time either. That takes some high side dsp ready hardware. Drop in gain may be depending on where you add the effect. Pre or Post amp. I do pitch Pre most of the time so yes it will have some affect on gain because you are modulating that signal. It can do the same post amp because you are modulating the output. Try mixing the effect level down some.

It may tend to get choppy but I sort of like playing around with that noise. It's like an old video game on a 4 or 8 bit console.
