Kimbodb
Hello, so by process of elimination i found a hum from the factory supplied usb cable when running my LT into my amp. I have the LT hookup directly to my monitors for the usb sound and have the helix in stomp mode for the amp. I had a ground loop with the helix itself but i just changed power outlet on the amp and that took care of a lot of hum that hum. now I'm just getting it from the usb. i tried unplugging my power chord from my Mac but the hum doesn't stop. so if anyone can help thanks. just to be clear I'm running to different paths for sound. Audio from laptop to helix to monitors and the guitar to helix to amp.
silverhead
That sort of usb hum is common with laptops. If you want to remove it completely you can run the laptop on batteries or get some sort of device that cleans up the power supply. I'm not sure what it's called. Kimbodb
Ok, so is there a reason that the hum doesn't stop when i pull the power chord from my laptop. It currently has no effect on the hum from the USB cable.

FlyingsCool
It could also be interference from the hard drive and other components in the laptop. Try putting a single coil guitar near the laptop, see if you hear the noise increase.
