TylerSocholotuik
Hi everyone, I recently built a new PC, and I am having issues with playing system audio when using the Helix as my soundcard. I did not have this problem with my old system, so I know that it isn't a hardware issue. When I first open my DAW after I boot up my computer, or watch YouTube videos, the audio will not play until I either disconnect and reconnect the USB cable multiple times or disable/enable in the playback devices window. It will then work for awhile, but if I leave the computer idle for any more than 5 minutes the problem returns. I have played with the sample rate, reinstalled the drivers, and checked the usb cable, and nothing seems to be helping. I have no idea what else to try, so if anyone has experienced similar issues or knows what the problem might be, I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance, Tyler. zooey
Try making sure your USB ports don't disable on idle.
TylerSocholotuik
Try making sure your USB ports don't disable on idle. I had no idea that windows did that by default. This didn't quite solve the problem unfortunately. :(
zooey
If you changed that setting, reboot, see if that helps
TylerSocholotuik
It didn't help. This new system just doesn't like my Helix for some reason. I went back to my Focusrite Scarlett and I have no issues at all. I'd prefer not to have 2 stages of conversion, but I guess that's how it has to be for now. I appreciate your help though! zooey
Get in touch with support. They may have more ideas, and in any case, they should know this is happening to someone. Good luck :)
