lepszy
Hi, i am have a variax 500 flying around and thinking about buying a firehawl FX. My question: Is it possible to connection the variax to the Firehawk (of course it is...) and controll and save the models/tunings/.../... with each preset? In the Firehawk FX Pilot's guide is just written: "And with any James Tyler®Variax®(JTV) or Variax® Standard instrument, control of alternate tunings...", but nothing about the 1st gen- Variax? thx for helping Exic
silverhead
In the early generations of Variax guitars (pre-JTV) the alternate tunings are embedded in the model and created using Workbench. Beginning with the JTV alternate tunings are implemented as a global feature and are not embedded in the model. This means that alternate tuning in pre-JTV guitars can only be controlled by selecting the model that contains the alternate tuning. The alternate tuning feature available in an HD500 preset cannot be applied in pe-JTV guitars. But you can use the HD500 preset to store and recall the Variax 500 model that contains the alternate tuning.
