Camlespaul6
I have a problem with my amp and pedal combination. I have a line 6 spider iv 150w and a brand new fbv mkii shortboard. The amp works perfectly when it's not plugged into the short-board and will do everything as expected. Once I plug in the short board I find the amp rebooting or shorting or something. It turns off for a second or two and then turns back on. I then tried plugging the short board into my old spider iv 15w and it worked without cutting the amp. I downloaded line 6 monkey and updated both the short board and the amp (and the amp didn't reboot while the shortbread was plugged into both it and the laptop). I tried swapping the cable between the fbv and the amp and that changed nothing. Not sure what to do now.
HarrieV
Camplespaul6. I have at this moment exactly the same issue with a IV 75W and a FBV shortboard MKII. I noticed you have not received any reply to you issue message. Were you able to solve the issue? Thanks for info. Regards, Harrie
fflbrgst
First thing to check is the small pins on the connectors for the CAT5 cable - both at the amp jack and pedal jack and the cable pins. Look for any bent out of position or shorting onto the next pin. Then check with a different CAT 5 cable.
HarrieV
fflbrgst. Thanks for reply. I replaced the CAT 5 cable and checked the connectors. No solution. The issue remains. The strange thing is that the Spider alone and with cable connected works OK. When the cable is connected to the FBV the issue occurs. When having the FBV connected to my laptop via USB cable as well, the issue does not occur. Very strange. fflbrgst. Thanks for reply. I replaced the CAT 5 cable and checked the connectors.
