Love for the Derailed Ingrid

Although the new Cali Texas and Placater are amazing, I have fallen for the Derailed Ingrid - using the 25 greenback cab, my Strat has never sounded so good

I set it up quite dirty and then use a gain block to reduce the gain by 10 db for cleaner tones and then another block for a lead boost - sounds amazing and my absolute "new favourite" !!!

Now I have found the way to make the helix sound good through headphones at home, I am so lovin this little black box of magic

What mic settings are you using with the cab? I am still trying to figure out the trainwreck, since it accounts for one of the best recorded ‘YouTube tones’ I have ever heared. Every piece of the puzzle helps!

green back 25 cab, 121 ribbon mic, 6 inches back and some generous room reflections

Been using the Slo-100 models for the longest until I tried Trainwreck model.  Paired with a 3 Sigma Soldano IR, the thing sounds amazing.  And I've found that you don't need a lot of gain to make this model sing.  My gain is set on 3 and it's enough for most of the solo work I do.  I put a Minotaur in front of the map if I need a little more saturation.  The Trainwreck model is most definitely my favorite amp so far, though I haven't had a chance to test drive 2.50's offerings just yet.

+1 it’s my main amp model too. I have a footswitch that switches the gain on the amp between low and high. Also, it responds well to the fulltone OCD and tube screamer models. It’s my favorite amp amongst all the great amps on Helix. I’m using a joost alnico IR with a bit of post EQ to even it out.

This amp model is soooo touch sensitive. I love it, and what an amazing addition they made to Helix with that one. I love putting my guitar volume knob on 8-9 and play without a pick. Has that clean dirty balance that is so great. Definitely one of my favourites :)

I find it works wonders with a T-Style guitar also...  i use it on tunes that I used to use the AC30 on... Queen, Bryan Adams, Tommy Tutone etc.. but it's AWESOME as well on country tunes.   Those songs where you need a good, chimey clean for part of the song but a crispy, open-sounding slightly driven tone for leads, etc.    You can get some good twang out of it.
