rychester63
Never had a problem before, but now when I open HX Edit, it says no device connected. Tried a different USB, but same outcome. Uninstalled HX Edit and reinstalled, same outcome. Any Ideas?
phil_m
Did you try a different USB cable? Restart the computer?
rychester63
Yes, I tried 3 different usb cables, uninstalled and reinstalled the program 3x and restarted my computer 3x. Still HX Edit does not recognize the Helix.
rychester63
Does anyone know if HX Edit uses any drivers for the program to run with the Helix?
silverhead
Yes. The driver is part of the package when you download the HX Edit installer. You must install the driver in order for HX Edit to work. Another part of the installer package is the Line 6 Updater program. You need to install that in order to perform a Helix device firmware update. You mentioned that you have installed the HX Edit program 3x. When doing that you should have been presented with an option to install the driver and Line 6 Updater. You should leave those boxes checked (the default) to ensure that these components are installed.
rychester63
Tried everything I can think of, still no luck. I know the usb is working cause under devices and printers in the settings menu of windows 10 it shows the Helix with a ( ! ) beside it saying no drivers installed when I know they are cause they are in the HX Edit download. rychester63
Well, I got it to work. I had to use recovery on the computer and reload everything. Long story short is the driver wasn't loading properly.
NelsonMonteiro
Hi, I am having the same problem. I have installed the drivers but it does not recognize the Helix. Can you please provide more information how you made it work? Tks, Nelson
stefanschlett
Had the same problem. Please check if you are using a SD Card reader, take out any SD card from it. For me, this trick ended a month of bending over back aches for me
NelsonMonteiro
Hi, I have no SD cards in the laptop. I have tried in 4 laptops including one I connected a Helix before, and I have the same issue, it is not recognized. I am planning to buy a new usb cable to see if it is the problem of the cable. I have opened a ticket as well. Thank you for your help. Happy New Year!
NelsonMonteiro
Hi, The problem was the USB cable. I used a different one and it was recognized by both Line 6 Updater, and HX. I have updated my Helix. Best, Nelson
