LENicholson
I bought my new HD500X in April of this year (2018). At the time I had a 10 year old iMac computer and downloaded the HD500X Edit program. They worked together just fine. Yesterday I replaced the old 32 bit iMac with a new 64 bit iMac. Now, no matter what I do, the Edit program does not see my pedal. There is no newer version of the Edit program. Is it incompatible with either 64 bit CPUs or USB 3.0 rather than older USB? Hel-l-l-l-P! phil_m
Have you installed Line 6 Monkey on the new iMac, and, if so, does it see the HD500X?
LENicholson
Thanks for the quick reply, phil_m.Yes, I already had installed Monkey, but my Mac OS said it needed to be updated by the mfgr. So, I went through the update and still had the same version installed on my computer, 1.76.0 Ran it anyway. Yes, Monkey sees the HD500X. Monkey showed that the newest Drivers update was ver. 7.6.7 but that it was not installed. So I ran the install, rebooted the computer and checked and Monkey still shows newest drivers not installed. phil_m
If the driver isn't installed, HD Edit won't work... I'm not sure what the next step should be, to be honest. I would suggest opening up a support ticket: https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
LENicholson
Thanks, phil_m. I did open a ticket. So will have to wait to see what they say.
steved61
I had the same problem. The new version on the Mac OS software has security settings that blocks the midi driver. I went into the security menu in the system preferences and "allowed" the driver and then everything worked
LENicholson
Thanks, steved61. After I posted the original question, I filed a ticket with the Customer Support folks. Then I went back to getting some other apps working on the new iMac. Discovered I had similar problems with one, but this time a window to the security menu popped up. It showed a list of blocked companies, and Line 6 drivers were listed there. I also 'allowed' the driver and it all works fine now. So I cancelled my ticket with Support but forgot to come back here and let y'all know what happened. Thanks again.
