Helix Native sales, does that ever happen?

I know there is a discount for those who own Helix hardware, and granted that for the Helix rack & floor users you get the Native for $99 but as a LT user $299 is more steep than I can go right now. Does L6 ever do sales for registered users? If ever I saw a $149 or $199 price for Lt users I’d HAVE to snatch it up!

The Line 6 Summer Sizzling Sale is on right now through the end of the month of July. 30% Off on Helix Native and all Software Packs. The details are on the Line6 site. If you have not yet bought Helix Native, now is a great time as the price will be even lower.

I’ve been messing around with Helix Native tonight, comparing it to tracks I recorded with my Axe FX II there are some noticeable differences. Native certainly doesn’t have clarity that the Axe FX does. Gonna need to do some more playing around before I pull the trigger.

Clarity isn't an inherent trait to either modeling platform. It's all about how you set up the gain staging of your signal chain. I say this as a multiple-time Fractal user. Or just look at the latest video from Sonic Drive Studio where he compared a Friedman BE100 in Native with his hardware Axe-FX III. Very little difference between the two, and it definitely ain't in clarity.

I checked out that video yesterday, the Native sounds great in that which makes me think I did something wrong last night. However, even in that video I still noticed the definition and note separation of the Helix is not on par with the AF3.

I’m gonna play more tonight to see what I find. I’m going to actually reamp a DI track that I recorded through my AF2 and maybe dona quick mix of the AF2 tones and the Helix tones to see how the compare. If I can get the Helix to make me happy it will certainly be more convenient for reamping.

Hey, we hear what we hear, but there wasn't a single note or string that was "smudged" on the Helix Native track to my ears. If I ever detect any in my own patches, an EQ boost in the 1.2-1.6khz range usually clears it right up. These are not static settings that can never be changed, after all....

I’ll try that tonight, do you usually put the eq before or after the amp block?

Depends. If I have a guitar with relatively PAF/vintage-like pickups, I do it before the amp. If not, then I do it between the amp and the cab block.
