dermo65 0 Posted June 23, 2018 Hi there, this is my first time on this forum, so apologies if someone has addressed this particular issue in the past. My question is this...I normally hate using noisegates as I feel that they can suck a lot out of your dynamics when you roll the guitar volume back. However, I would like to be able to engage just for use at higher gain settings (eg - The Vermin (RAT) stomp). Is it possible to configure a patch within a preset whereby, when I switch the Vermin on, it simultaneously engages the noisegate? It may sound like a stupid question, but gimme a break, I'm new here :-) ! D.
SymphonicDischord 33 Posted June 23, 2018 Sure there’s a few different ways you could accomplish this. First off if your using a noise gate block, you could setup a stomp that engages both the noise gate and the rat when you need it and bypasses them both when you don’t. Alternatively if you want to use the noise gate on the input block, you could set up a Snapshot with that and the rat engaged and a second one without.
dermo65 0 Posted June 23, 2018 @SymphonicDischord: Cheers for that man. I think I'll give the first option a go. I haven't really advanced to using Snapshots just yet.
RD1967 15 Posted July 9, 2018 You should really get into Snapshots. Once you do you'll probably never go back to "Stomp" mode.....of course, you can use both Snapshots AND Stomp mode and get the best of both worlds. Snapshots are really a game changer.
