Trotsky
Hi. Could someone tell me if I can load up the 2.6 update when my LT is on version 2.3 and will it give me all the stuff that came with 2.5 onwards? Many thanks.
silverhead
Yes. Before updating the firmware make sure to use your current and compatible version of HX Edit to back up any setlists/presets you want to keep using in v2.6. Then download and install HX Edit v2.6, which will also install the associated driver and Line 6 Updater program. Then run the Updater program to update the Helix LT firmware. Trotsky
Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. So this will give me all the other stuff like the legacy effects etc that came in the 2.5 version? Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question !!
silverhead
Yes - each firmware update is comprehensive, containing all features and components of earlier firmware releases. V2.6 contains the Legacy FX that came with v2.5 as well as the complete package of previously released amp and FX models.

Much like the prior firmware version the installation notes that come up when you run the Updater for the 2.60 firmware indicate that you should take a backup with the latest editor, in this case HX Edit 2.60. So... as I did last time, not only did I take a backup with my old version of HX Exit but I also exited the Updater after I saw this instruction and before updating and backed up my Helix with HX Edit 2.60. I quit the editor and then used the Updater to update the 2.60 firmware.
Trotsky
Thanks for your help. Let’s hope I don’t screw this up like the other day when I managed to over-write all of my saved presets on my pc! ive now got to start from scratch. I hate pc’s !!
