mitchmarkell
I'm trying to get more signal to my Mic path output. Preamps alone don't have enough umph. So what amp will give me natural flat boost without distortion?
shanecgriffo
i wouldn't use any amps for mic input .. they'll all colour it too much i think.. there should be more than enough with the mic pre and an eq or gain block i'm sure, as well as the gain control in settings
mikisb
I think, if the onboard adjustments in input/Mic-Pre/output are'nt enough even not with an additional neutral boost via EQ, there's probably something wrong. Does the mic need phantom power and is it activated?
jbuhajla
Almost all effect blocks have a level parameter with at least +6dB of gain. Try utilizing the LA Studio Comp, EQ block, or just a simple gain block to get your levels where they are needed for your Mic signal path. soundog
What kind of mic are you using? Can't imagine it has such low output, but maybe you need a small hardware mic preamp before the Helix (that would be only for an extremely low output mic). I agree with others, don't color or distort with a DSP amp .... if anything use a gain block.
