JTV Variax will not accept virtual capo settings

Recommended Posts

So I've watched the two videos on setting a virtual capo - when I push my model button down and get it and the tuning select wheel to blink, as soon as I move the tuning select to where I want to store openE (modal in this case), the tuning select knob stops blinking and I get nothing saved... every time.  It seems as if this does not want to be this difficult - any suggestions on how I can store OpenE tuning in what is now the factory "Model" position on the tuning wheel?

According to the JTV Pilots Handbook "You can replace all but the MODEL and STANDARD setting on the Alternate Tuning knob with your very own creations." So that's why it won't work for the Model setting. Hope this helps.

Also after watching some of the videos I see where you might be having the problem. First, you can't store open E to Model like you want to do, the way you may think it works. Model would then store the open E to Spank 1 if that's the tuning you want for Spank 1, if you had it on T-Model 5, it would save it there. It saves the tuning with the model selected. I'm guessing you just want to have an Open E tuning on one of the tuning positions(tuning knob), just choose any other one other than Model and Standard. When you push the Guitar model selector after, it goes to audition mode, you'd have to hold the Guitar selector knob for about 2.5 sec for it to save the new tuning. I hope I made sense in my explanation but if you need more clarification then please post.
