Hey Guys,

Today I walk through the tone used in the song Snakes by my band/project, The Partisan Component using the Line 6 Helix and Ownhammer Impulses.

The chain is as follows:

PRS SE Tremonti with Fishman Fluence Modern pickups
--
Line 6 Helix Rack using Ownhammer Impulses
--
Universal Apollo Twin
--
Presonus Studio One 3

Hey thanks for posting this.  I've been having a really hard time getting a usable metal tone from Native (not a problem from my floor unit - weird).  Way too much bass and all the cuts weren't helping.  I actually think it's my Sigma 3 IR - I listened to a side by side comparison and the Sigma IR seems to add a lot more than necessary low end and the Ownhammer IR's seem to have more clarity.  I'll be reviewing your video a couple more times.  Any other tips or videos you can share would be appreciated.  I'm new to audio recording so this is a whole new mysterious world to me!

Different IRs make a massive difference. Given a highly distorted signal that covers the whole frequency range, an IR can almost completely transform the output. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwgyUzXU2Lk

Usually IRs from a supplier like Ownhammer or 3 Sigma don't create intentionally massive differences like in the video, but there is still the potential for very significant changes in the output that can be as distinctive as using a completely different amp. So you absolutely do need to compare and contrast the IRs you're using.
