davidjtsim76
Hi guys, I maybe missing this somewhere but is there a process for converting existing patches with various fx on/off to a snapshot setup? Or should I rebuild the patch from scratch with them built in? Any tips gratefully received.
silverhead
There is no conversion required. Every preset contains 8 snapshots at all times. You can either use the snapshots or ignore them, which actually means that you are only using Snapshot #1. Every block in the preset signal chain exists in all snapshots, and if you haven't yet customized the snapshots the blocks are all in the same on/off state in all 8 snapshots. in order to begin customizing snapshots for different block on/off states simply select Snapshot#2 and manually turn each block On/Off as desired. Save the preset before selecting another snapshot (Use the Global Snapshot editing parameter to control whether you want to Recall or Discard Snapshot changes within a preset while editing). Continue with Snapshot #3 and customize it, then #4 and so on.
kylotan
If the question was more about "can I merge multiple patches into one patch with snapshots" then I don't think there is any sort of process for that. It would hypothetically be possible to create one but since it's not guaranteed to work in all situations and it would rarely be used, it's probably not worthwhile. I'd just rebuild the patch from scratch with snapshots in mind. Start with a copy of your most complex existing patch and, fill in any other blocks you need from the other patches, then create the snapshots you need. RD1967
Agreed! You will need to rebuild in snapshot mode.
