redbelo
Can I Use a external ON/OFF switch to power the helix if I leave the onboard switch permanently ON?
soundog
Seems that I read the answer to this before on the forums, and it is "yes." Was wondering the same for an HX Effects, and assuming the answer is also yes? Confirm?
kennyhickey
I have my Helix plugged into a power strip with a few other things and just use the switch on the power strip to turn everything on/off....no issues.
Verne-Bunsen
I actually contacted Line 6 directly on this a while back and was told: <ahem> "Quote: Hi, You're good to go using an external switch. Your proposed set up will not damage the Helix at all. Have fun! Thanks, Will - Line 6 Support"

Same. I've been doing this for over a year with no issues.
jbuhajla
I do it all the time.
cruisinon2
Why is this even a question? I've done this for going on 30 years, with more pieces of gear than I could possibly count. The juice either gets through and turns it on, or it doesn't.... makes no difference where the gatekeeper is.

ParkerFlyMajik
I fried my Vetta II HD that way (or it was a very unfortunate coincidence). Used a power strip switch. Seemed to be a momentary spike in power and it was toast. I have been turning things on/o in series ever since. Good to know that L6 is making things more robust these days.
