I've been trying for about 2 days to no success. I followed all the steps on the Cubase Help site that and set the driver to the spider and the inputs to the spider as well but when I press record nothing happens. Can someone please help set me up?

It's been a few weeks since your post, but it's obvious while it's not working: You are trying to record to an instrument track, which uses MIDI to trigger a virtual instrument. The track type you should be using is the standard  "audio track" in stereo.
