Cant recommend this pack of IR's enough!

If a Friedman is your sound and thing,  this pack takes it to another level. Worth every penny and makes the Placater in HXN sound as it should.. IMMENSE!

First time buyer of Ownhammer IR's they are so easy to use, plug and play, and enhance the tone immediately and with a bit of tweaking to taste - killer tone in minutes!

Tried other Freidman IR's and patches but they have not even came close to these.

GuitarJohnSDS.. know you pop in here from time to time... brilliant work and thank you!

@Jagman13 thanks for that great review!

I came here to make a post of my own about the FMAN but it's probably better to leave that in this thread:

Available now from OwnHammer.com is the 412 FMAN! Based on the 4x12 from this legendary amp maker and modder for the stars, this pack is centered around the pinnacle of sound for hot-rodded British tones. The 6-Pack bundle library utilizes pairs of the most popular speakers for this application - the M25 and V30 - and provisions specimens from a wide range of eras of manufacturing. Many, many extras are included for the 6-Pack bundle for this library on top of the usual feature set. M25B, V30B, and derivative pairs blend all M25 and V30 types into pre-made files, as well and most notably the M25V and V93 speakers are provided in Extended Microphone Collection (EMC) format as a 6-Pack only feature. The EMC add-ons bring much of what is found in the virally successful Basketweave GNR library series in the form of many additional mics and mixes. In the 6-Pack, there is an additional "MIX" speaker type option that blends the M25V and V93 for the full EMC feature set. To round it all off, an exclusive "SHRED" mix has been added to the lot. Blissful tones abound in this staple release from OwnHammer, which you can pick up at:

I've been looking at this pack but every time I look at it I get totally confused about what's in it.  They refer to the Extended Mic Collection (EMC) as well as various combinations of speakers, but it's very hard to decipher what's what in the file structure they provide.  And of course, as always, their documentation is very sparse.  I look into the BROWN category and it appears that all that's there is the SHRED mix and nothing more...and apparently it's not part of the EMC...so who knows what's there.

The main problem being, once this is purchased there are no refunds, but if I can't decipher what's in there from their documentation and marketing page how do I know what I'm getting?  Whoever is organizing and documenting all of this really needs to do a MUCH better job because I don't think I'm willing to throw money away without any real idea of what I'm getting.

Thank you for expressing interest in OwnHammer products!

I'm sorry that you find this release confusing but I assure you that it's actually quite simple.

If you buy one of the 'regular' single speaker cabs, you'll just get the regular OwnHammer feature set.

There are some additions in the more recent OH releases such as the 'RIP' and 'SHRED' mixes.

Now, if you get the 6-pack you'll recieve some extras!

Additional speaker folder options included:

• “M25B” based on a blend of the M25M, M25V, and M93 speakers.
• “MIX” based on a blend of the M25V and V93 speakers (EMC feature set).
• “V30B” is based on a blend of the V30M, V30V, and V93 speakers.

The following pre-made complimentary speaker pair mixes are also provided:

• M25B+V30B
• M25M+V30M
• M25V+V30V
• M93+V93
• V30B+M25B
•V30M+M25M
• V30V+M25V
• V93+M93

Also, the M25V, V93 and MIX files (the MIX being a 6-pack exclusive) feature the EMC feature set which stands for 'Extended Microphone Collection'.

The EMC feature set is quite similar to the GNR since it features many additional microphones and mixes such as the Brown, CL1, CL2, JP and OH3 mixes.

The EMC's feature a total of 42 single mic options including the auxilliary files (ROOM, REAR etc.).

The user manual and product page feature a complete list of all the included mics and mixes.

Hope this helps!

I have bought 4 packs from Ownhammer and they are all excellent.  They are also very confusing.  I know to them it seems quite simple but the difference between speakers, cabs, speaker mixes, mic mixes etc gets complicated.  Not to say it's not worth it, but you have to look over the documentation several times to understand their terminology.

It would be very helpful to have a video maybe on how they organize and structure the files.

I love these new ones but I am still using a Marshall 412 with EVH speakers from the Heavy Hitters volume 1.  It's great to have the different flavors and experiment, too.

Well...it didn't help much as that's what you have in the marketing write-up, but let me give you an example of what isn't clear to me.  Let's say I want an M25B speaker configuration and a BROWN mic mx.  Where is that located in the files structure listed?

The Brown mixes are EMC content, so you'll only find those in the M25V, V93 and MIX folders in the 6-pack.

Hope that helps!

Again...not there.  It's not listed in the EMC Mix folder nor under M25V EMC folder.  In the EMC Mixes folder structure, there is a BROWN folder which contains only a set of V93 SHRED configurations.  You're proving my point.  Confusing and unintelligible.  Especially when compared to the easily understandable arrangement in the Basketweave GNR M25 assortment.  That arrangement made total sense and was easy to find what I wanted.

The Brown mixes are definitely in the EMC folders.

I just double checked for you on my PC.

Go to Mixes and in the BROWN folders you'll find all the BROWN mixes from 00 to 10.

That's for the M25V, MIX and V93 EMC files.

If they aren't in your FMAN folders, perhaps the files you downloaded were corrupted?

Either way, if you download the FMAN 6-pack files from the OwnHammer website you'll find BROWN mixes in the M25V, MIX and V93 EMC folders.

Hope that helps, cheers!

That's the core of the problem.  I haven't downloaded them at this point because I'm trying to use the file structures shown on your web site to figure out what's in them and that pretty much has zero relationship to what you're decribing here.  As I mentioned in my original post, I'm interested in buying them, but without knowing what's in them, if I buy them and they aren't what I want I can't return them.  So I have to depend on your marketing page to figure that out and what you're talking about as far as what's in the file structure isn't represented in any way similar to what's on your marketing page.

So the question is, what do you expect me to do?  Buy it and hope for the best since I can't return it if what I'm looking for isn't there?
