shawn_brawn
Im having an issue with my Helix, the amps themself sound amazing but when paired to a cab it seems like half the amp disappears. The cabs seem to completely darken all of the amp sounds. Any ideas?
HeRo70
Maybe you pair an amp+cab with another cab, that sounds bad. As bad as using just an amp (not amp+cab) on its own. Pairing an amp an and a cab (single or dual) should sound nice. Please check out the block: is it amp or amp+cab? And in case, don't add another cab after amp+cab. Hope this helps. RD1967
Please explain more on your setup or show a screenshot. It sounds like you may be using an amp that already has a cab and then choosing an additional cab. If you are choosing only the amp it will say "amp" below it on your screen. If you are choosing an amp and a cab it will say "A+C" below it....you may be adding another cab to the "A+C". If you want to use two cabs then only choose the amp and run the two cabs in parallel. shawn_brawn
For instance, the cartographer, if i run just the amp head, it sounds full and bright but when pared to any of the cabs it become dull and dark.
willjrock
Boy i wish i had this issue. Helix sounds bright/fizzy/ no warmth at all, when paired with HX cabs. I choose IRs.
DunedinDragon
The most important question to ask here is what are you using as an output device? If you're playing through a physical guitar cabinet then you don't need a modeled cab in the signal chain.

After 2 years of using helix and dealing with the same issues, i found that it requires HEAVY EQ on the stock cabs., or just some IRs. Kingkid
Yes the Helix sounds fantastic with no cab. So lets think a second. If im using a guitar cab from my Helix, i dont really need a cab or ir in the Helix. I run my Helix straight into my P.a!!
