colly420 Posted September 19, 2018 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Hello, looking to change the pickups on my JTV-69, wondering what spec do I need to look for when looking for pickups, are they 500k or 250k pots on this guitar and is there anything else I need to know? psarkissian Posted September 19, 2018 Share Posted September 19, 2018 Not so much the pots as it is the rest of the "active circuitry". These are not guitars with passive electronics, and so need to be treated differently. Third party pick-ups,... check the specs to be certain the DC/bulk resistance is between 6k and 8k Ohms. Be aware that modifications to the functionality of the guitar may void any warranty, so such modifications are at the customer's own risk.
